About the event
The Volpe Center has developed the free, open-source Freight and Fuel Transportation Optimization Tool (FTOT) with support from FAA (and additional support from DOE and ONR). FTOT is a flexible scenario-testing tool that optimizes the transportation of materials for future energy and freight scenarios. FTOT is being used to analyze sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) and alternative fuel scenarios in support of FAA and DOE programs, as well as being used by government, academic, and private sector users.
FTOT models and tracks commodity-specific information and can take into account conversion of raw materials to products (e.g., feedstock to SAF and renewable diesel) and the fulfillment of downstream demand.
